Coherent 400G ZR QSFP-DD DCO—OIF 400ZR with optional OpenZR+ modes, LC-duplex C-band DWDM, ~120 km point-to-point DCI, 400GAUI-8 host, CMIS management.
The 400G ZR QSFP-DD DCO is a coherent pluggable transceiver for point-to-point DCI up to ~120 km on standard single-mode fiber. It integrates a digital coherent DSP (DCO) and operates in the C-band on the ITU-T DWDM grid, presenting an 8-lane 400GAUI-8 electrical host interface. With compliance to OIF 400ZR and optional OpenZR+ modes, it enables simple, high-capacity 400G Ethernet over existing DWDM MUX/DEMUX systems while keeping LC-duplex cabling and low touch operations.
Standards & Management
OIF 400ZR interoperability; optional OpenZR+ profiles (vendor-dependent)
Host: 400GAUI-8 (8×53.125 Gbps PAM4) with host KP4 FEC
Module management: CMIS 4.0+ (DOM/diagnostics, alarms)
Optics & Reach
Line: Coherent DP-16QAM (ZR); additional modulations/QPSK for ZR+ profiles
Band/Channel: C-band DWDM, ITU-T grid (75/100 GHz filter compatibility)
Connector/Fiber: LC duplex, OS2 SMF
Reach: up to ~120 km (ZR); longer distances and ROADM traversal with ZR+ (profile-dependent)
Performance & Power
Data rate: 400 GbE line payload
Integrated SD-FEC in the DSP for long-reach performance
Typical power: 14–20 W (platform/environment dependent)
Reliability & Environment
Case temperature: 0 to +70 °C (commercial); extended range on request
Laser safety: Class 1 (IEC 60825-1)
RoHS/REACH compliant
Use Cases
400G DCI between data centers (metro/region) on existing dark fiber
DWDM MUX/DEMUX point-to-point spans with EDFA amplification
ZR+ variants for longer reach and ROADM-based routes (where supported)
Notes: Capabilities (e.g., ZR+ profiles, ROADM support, output power) vary by version. Verify channel plan, OSNR, and filter spacing against your DWDM design.
