100G CFP2 ZR4—4×25G LAN-WDM @ ~1310 nm over LC-duplex, up to 80 km on OS2; CAUI-4 electrical, MDIO/DOM—ideal for metro DCI and long-reach aggregation.
The 100G CFP2 ZR4 is a 100-Gigabit Ethernet single-mode transceiver engineered for up to 80 km reach. It multiplexes 4×25G NRZ LAN-WDM wavelengths near 1310 nm onto a duplex LC interface and presents a CAUI-4 (4×25.78 Gbps) electrical host—ideal for metro access/aggregation, campus DCI, and long-reach backbones on existing SMF. Typical designs use EML transmitters and high-sensitivity APD receivers, with host FEC recommended to ensure robust performance on long spans.
