The OLP – Optical Line Protection module protects critical fiber routes by switching traffic between a working and protection path based on real-time optical conditions. Transparent to protocol and bitrate, it monitors receive power/LOS on both paths and triggers fast switchover (<20 ms typical) when a cut or degradation is detected—maintaining service continuity for DCI, metro, and backbone links.
Configurable revertive/non-revertive logic, hold-off and wobble timers, and hysteresis prevent unnecessary flaps, while alarms and logs support rapid root-cause analysis. The card fits HYD 1U/2U/5U platforms or a 1U stand-alone chassis and interoperates cleanly with MUX/DEMUX, EDFA/Raman, OCM/OTDR, and OLPM modules for end-to-end resilience and observability.
