Multi-port optical power detection for CWDM/DWDM links—real-time composite (per-port) power readout, user thresholds & alarms, and NMS/Web/CLI integration for fast troubleshooting and power balancing.
The OPD – Optical Power Detection Card provides in-service, multi-point optical power monitoring at critical locations in your optical layer—booster/pre-amp inputs/outputs, line/express paths, and protection legs. Using low-loss tap inputs, OPD measures composite power per port (not per-channel) to verify span loss, EDFA balance, and OLP decisions without disturbing live traffic.
Operators can set thresholds and hysteresis to raise alarms on drift, fiber cuts, or mispatch. Historical trending and report export aid preventive maintenance, while seamless integration with OLP/EDFA/DVOA enables closed-loop power control. OPD slots into HYD 1U/2U/5U platforms and complements OCM (per-channel) by giving a simple, low-cost view of total power at multiple points.
Multi-port composite power monitoring (e.g., 4/8/16 ports, model-dependent)
In-service measurement via low-loss tap; no traffic interruption
User thresholds, hysteresis, LOS/LOP alarms; event logs & trend charts
Web/CLI/SNMP management; optional Netconf/YANG for automation
Works with G.652/G.657 SMF; front panel LC/UPC (LC/APC, SC options)
Hot-swappable card for HYD 1U/2U/5U chassis; low power, front access
Complements OCM (per-channel) and OTDR (fault localization) in unified O&M
