The EDFA – Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier boosts optical signals on C-band DWDM routes to extend span length and improve OSNR. Available as Booster (BA), Line/In-line (LA), and Pre-amp (PA) variants, it features low noise figure, flat gain, and fast transient control for multi-wavelength stability. Integrated AGC/APC/ACC modes keep power and gain constant under channel add/drop events, while optional mid-stage access supports VOA, OADM, or DCM insertion without upsetting balance. Front-access ports, monitor points, and alarms simplify turn-up and O&M at POP/IDC and backbone sites.
