Polarization-insensitive SOA for C-band/O-band links—fast transient response, 10–20 dB gain, compact low-power design. Ideal for burst-mode, access/metro CWDM, and loss compensation across splitters/OADMs.
The SOA – Semiconductor Optical Amplifier provides compact, low-power optical gain for short-to-medium reach applications where speed and flexibility matter. Unlike EDFAs, the SOA’s sub-microsecond gain dynamics make it well-suited to burst-mode traffic (PON/packet), fast protection switching, and dynamic add/drop scenarios.
Available in C-band (≈1528–1565 nm) and O-band (≈1260–1360 nm) models, the polarization-insensitive (PI-SOA) design minimizes PDG for stable multi-wavelength operation in CWDM and selected DWDM use cases. Integrated AGC/APC and transient suppression maintain stable output under channel/activity changes, while optional VOA and monitor ports simplify balancing and in-service testing. The module fits HYD 1U/2U/5U platforms as a hot-swappable card or standalone 1U device and integrates with MUX/DEMUX, OLP, and OCM/OTDR modules for clean O&M.
